RAW02 was about exchange of expressions between YAMASHITA Zan, who has been creating expressions that question the concept of dance by incorporating words, and the Otoasobi Project, in which members with and without disabilities perform free improvisations unconstrained by conventional music.
To prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, the performance at our gallery scheduled for January was unavoidably canceled. Instead, we'll publish a part of archived video of two workshops held for the performance.
The way the members of the Otoasobi Project responded to Yamashita's "choreography" with their bodies and performances gave us a sense of the potential for new expressions to emerge from here. We will continue to explore the possibility of continuing our activities with the two groups.
