This workshop is to discover each different characteristic of body-perceptions and actions of people with/ without disabilities by developing simple actions such as to walk and to touch with Integrated Dance Company Kyo, a dance company which dancers play outstanding regardless of disabilities. Let’s experience how we create dance together. Aki Kawashita, a dance educator and a dancer, will take a role of an instructor.
Instructor
Aki Kawashita
Since encountered dance while at Osaka University of Health and Sport Science, Kawashita has been working for activities to connect dance and people with disabilities. She also holds workshops for instructors such as childminders, teachers and welfare service workers.
Integrated Dance Company Kyo
Established in 2014 with dancers using wheelchairs. Their activities such as workshops and performances held with diverse people draw big attention as the one connecting arts and society. Current works: “Dance workshop with people with/without disabilities” (KAAT, 2014), Performances: “les gens de tokyo” (choreographed by Didier Theron, 2017), “Kaburieru” (choreographed by Shintaro Hirahara, 2018) and others.
Please come in active wear. *Please note to take off the shoes at the venue.
Participation limited to 7 people (registration required)
To register, please fill the registration form attached below and send it via e-mail or FAX, writing “Registration for Workshop” in the subject area by Tuesday, February 12.
Please note that a draw will be held for place allocation in the case of too many applicants.
