Speaker

Edward M. Gómez

Art critic; art historian; member of the advisory council, Collection de l’Art Brut, Lausanne, Switzerland. Contributor of critical articles and essays to The New York Times, Hyperallergic, ARTnews, Art in America, The Japan Times, and other publications. Former correspondent and senior editor of Raw Vision, the British magazine about outsider art. Author or co-author of numerous books. Among them: Genqui Numata (Franklin Furnace Archive), Yes: Yoko Ono (Abrams), The Art of Adolf Wölfli: St. Adolf―Giant―Creation (American Folk Art Museum/Princeton University Press), and Hans Krüsi (Iconofolio/Outsiders)

TSUKAMOTO Yoshiharu

Born in Kanagawa in 1965, TSUKAMOTO Yoshiharu, Dr. Eng., is a member of Atelier Bow-Wow and a professor at the Institute of Science Tokyo Graduate School. He graduated from the Department of Architecture and Building Engineering at the Tokyo Institute of Technology School of Engineering in 1987. He studied at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris-Belleville from 1987 to 1988 and completed his doctoral coursework at Tokyo Institute of Technology Graduate School in 1994. In 1992, he co-founded Atelier Bow-Wow with KAIJIMA Momoyo, engaging in a wide range of activities, including architecture, public space design, furniture design, field surveys, education, art exhibition participation, exhibition curation, and writing. TSUKAMOTO advocates for “Behaviorology,” promoting an ecological shift in architectural design and attempting to reclaim architecture from industry for people and communities. He is a 2022 Wolf Award Architecture Laureate.
